Global Food Safety Initiative
The objective of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is to provide a common approach to implementing food safety and quality systems. An understanding of the application of HACCP principles is mandatory for anyone Meeting GFSI Standards.
GFSI requires independent and external validation that a product, process or service complies with international, regulatory and other specified standards and enables a food supplier to give assurances that food has been produced, prepared and handled according to the highest possible standards.
